Senior Technical Adviser

Angela Pinzón

Dr Angela Pinzón holds a BSc in Microbiology, an MSc in Analytical Chemistry, an MSc in Chemistry, and a PhD in Environmental Chemistry. She is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC) and the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Environmental Chemistry (SETAC).

Before joining ITOPF, Angela worked on projects aimed at linking the chemistry and toxicity of oil refining waste, and evaluating low-cost clean-up methods for toxic waste from the oil sector. She has also worked on projects related to chemical diversity in marine organisms, and has actively participated in the recovery of coral populations in the Caribbean. She also has extensive experience as a scientific translator.

Angela joined ITOPF in 2019 and is coordinator of the ITOPF R&D Award..
